Müller exited in the 27th minute after a hard challenge from Galaxy left‑back Julián Aude caused a “dead leg,” according to Whitecaps manager Jesper Sørensen. Sørensen noted the injury was likely minor but cautioned the team’s thin roster could be affected ahead of the upcoming Sunday fixture.
Before his departure, Müller contributed an assist, flicking a Ryan Gauld throw‑in to Brian White for the opening goal. The Whitecaps added two more goals in the second half, maintaining pressure while Müller was off the pitch.
Goalkeeper Yohei Takaoka recorded his 10th clean sheet of the season, reinforcing the defensive solidity that helped the club stay atop the Western Conference with a 14‑5‑4 record. Midfielder Ryan Gauld also earned MLS Team of the Matchday honors for his goal, assist and overall play.
The win keeps the Whitecaps in a strong position as they prepare to host Austin FC the following weekend, with the club also promoting its Soccer for Cancer fundraiser.
